was a terrific success; more than 130 attendees from Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William, Front Royal, Loudoun, Prince George's, Montgomery and DC.

Look forward to the Bar-b-cue/Picnic July 12 at 12:30 to 5 p.m. in Virginia Highlands Park in Arlington (next to Pentagon City Mall, Yellow and Blue metro lines.

To get to the park by metro:

Get off the Blue or Yellow Line at Pentagon City Mall, go left past the gates, and left up to the street level. Continue south beside the mall to the next street (5th Str.) and turn right. Look for us in about 50 feet on the left in the bar-b-cuing area.

If you're driving on I-395 from the south, take exit 8A, shift to the right lane, go forward at the light by the mall, go through the light at 5th Str., and there is parking on the right. Go between the playing fields and through the little woods to the bar-b-cue area.

Bring balls, games, frisbees to play with, and of course sunscreen.

Shoot me back an email if you think you're coming, so we can know how much food to get, and specify if you are vegetarian or vegan.

We are hoping to have monthly events for LGBT and allied youth in Northern Virginia, though it may take a few months to organize.

We are looking for a (free) place in southern Prince William County to have events perhaps 4 times per year. If you know of one, let me know.
